In order to be able to use this free version of Nisus Writer, you must obtain a serial number by registering on our Internet Web site.
Once you have registered, our server will automatically send, to the email address you have provided, your individual serial number. IT IS THEREFORE VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TAKE CARE IN ENTERING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS CORRECTLY.
The following instructions will take you step-by-step through the simple process of registering on the Internet.
Before you register, there is one requirement that you must know about: in order to register you must have an email address. If you currently do not have one, you can get one free from several different providers, but of course you must have Internet access. One place where you can get an email address free is Eudora (a division of Qualcomm). Their web page is at:

Click on the “Eudora Web Mail” icon.
If you have an email address but no Internet access, you can still register by using someone else’s Internet access, or by using access at a library or other public access.
If you do not have access to the Internet and you do not have an email address you can purchase (for a nominal price) a serial number with a credit card by phone registration, by calling our sales department at: 1-800-490-2266
Registering on the Internet
• Make sure you are connected, the way you normally get connected, either by dial up through your modem, or using your Local Area Network (LAN).
• You should have a newer version of a browser. (Generally version 3.x or later.) If your current browser does not work, get a more recent one. (Browsers can be downloaded free from their respective company’s web site.) If you are an AOL 3.0 user the browser they supply is equivalent to Explorer 2.0 which for registration should work but may break down with newer Macintosh systems. Even if you are an AOL user, you can use any of the standard browsers, so if you have problems, download Netscape or Explorer version 3 or 4 and try again.
• Startup your browser.
• You must make sure that your browser preferences are set so that receiving “Cookies” is enabled. Instructions on enabling Cookies for the popular browsers are given on our web site but only if we sense that your browser is not setup for them. So just try registering and you will be prompted.
• Type into your browser address window (at the top of the browser window) the following:

• Then hit the Enter or Return key.
• When our main page completes loading, scroll down to near the bottom. In the center, you will see a Nisus icon with the words “Free Free” around it.
• Move your mouse over the icon so that it shows a pointing hand, and click on that icon. You will be taken to another page with instructions and the registration form you have to fill out. Proceed as if you were planning to download the program, but of course you will not need to download because you already have the program on a disk.
• First you are asked for your full names and your email address. Make very sure that you do not mistype this. If you do, you will not receive your serial number. If you type your email address correctly, after you complete the next form, your serial number will be sent to you, automatically by email. If you do not receive it, you have probably mistyped your email address. If this happens, just go back and register again.
• After completing the forms, you will be taken to another page for downloading the program. Just close and quit the browser because you do not need to download.
